The North American Interstate Weather Modification Council (NAIWMC) was organized on January 17, 1975. It was initially formed to coordinate intrastate, interstate, and possible international weather modification activities. After lying dormant for several years, the NAIWMC was reconstituted in 1998 in an attempt to reinvigorate federal interest in weather modification.
